Well Hello to everyone, you seem to have found our Events page, here you will find a detailed calendar of events for this year.

All of our usual events at the site are listed here, including; all the Committee Meetings, the Coffee Mornings and Plant Sales, Apple Press Afternoons and all this leads up to the Annual Show our crowning glory of the year. The year concludes with the Annual General Meeting.

The Trading Hut is open on Saturdays from 10.00 a.m. until 11.00 a.m. for the sale of compost, manure, bamboo canes and other store items.

2024 Events

January

The new Kings and D.T. Brown seed orders will soon be available, call in to the Trading Hut to pick up your orders.

This year’s seed potatoes will be available from January onwards and can be purchased from the Trading Hut.

This year’s varieties can be viewed on the Trading Hut page. You can order by weight or quantity, mix and match as we charge by the weight.

Due to the poor quality of onion and shallot sets we are unable to sell them this year.

What’s the definition of Winter: the season when we try to keep the house as hot as it was in the summer, when we complained about the heat.

February

Monday 13th Committee Meeting at 7.00 p.m. to be held at the Trading Hut.

What’s the definition of a Statistician: a person who draws a mathematically precise line from an unwarranted assumption to a foregone conclusion.

March

Saturday 11th Seed Swap and Coffee Morning at 10.00 to 12.00 noon and will be held in the Trading Hut.

Monday 13th Committee Meeting at 7.00 p.m. to be held at the Trading Hut.

The trouble with getting to work on time is that it makes the day so long.

April

Monday 1st EASTER MONDAY

Committee Meeting will be held on Monday 8th at the Trading Hut at 7.00 p.m

May

Monday 6th EARLY MAY BANK HOLIDAY

Committee Meeting Monday 15th in the Trading Hut at 7.00 p.m.

Saturday 18th Plant Sale and Coffee Morning. Starting at 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon and will be held in the Trading Hut. Call in for a cuppa as well as meeting people and swapping stories, see if you can pick up a few plants into the bargain.

June

Monday 10th Committee Meeting to be held at the Trading Hut.at 7.00 p.m.

Saturday 15th Plant Sale and Coffee Morning. Starting at 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon and will be held in the Trading Hut. There’s not just coffee but tea as well and the odd raffle. Come and meet old friends and make new one’s there will be plants to buy.

July

Monday 8th Committee Meeting at the Trading Hut 7.00 p.m. We welcome all new Committee Members at any time of the year.

August

Monday 12th Committee Meeting at the Trading Hut 7.00 p.m. Call along and see us to get a flavour of what we do before joining us.

Sunday 1st Annual Show

The main entrance to the Site is on Lumley Place, The Show opens to the public at 2.00 p.m. Planning for this year’s show is already in progress, please make a note of the date in your diary and come along and bring your family and friends with you to help make the show as successful this year as it has been in recent years. The show is for all plot holders and we’d like as many as possible to contribute. The schedule will be similar to previous years and copies will be available at the hut from late July. There will also be information and advice available for those who are novices at showing.

Monday 9th Committee Meeting at the Trading Hut 7.00 p.m. All new members are welcome as are old ones as well.

Saturday 14th Apple Pressing to be held at the Trading Hut from 11.15 a.m. until around 15.30 p.m. - Remember to bring some apples and bottles for the juice.

Monday 14th Committee Meeting at the Trading Hut 7.00 p.m. All new Committee Members are welcome to join us. Come along and see what happens and find out how the site is managed.

Saturday 26th Annual General Meeting. 11.30 a.m. at the Trading Hut. The usual format will be followed an introduction by the chair followed by the Officer Reports. Here members of the Association are given an update on the progress of the Association through the Officer Reports and are also invited to raise issues for discussion relating to the site at the meeting. A new Committee will be elected and then any changes to the Constitution and rules will be discussed and voted on. We would request that if there are any additional items for the agenda please let us know before the meeting

Saturday 26th. Pumpkin Carving. After the A.G.M. at the Trading Hut. After the success of last year this is an event for children of all ages. Be sure to grow some pumpkin’s and bring them along to carve some lanterns.

November

Monday 11th Committee Meeting at the Trading Hut 7.00 p.m. After the Annual General Meeting a number of new Committee Members will no doubt have joined the committee. If you did not join us at the A.G.M. feel free to pop along and see your Committee in action.

December

Monday 9th Committee Meeting at the Trading Hut 7.00 p.m.

The new D.T. Brown seed order catalogues will be available from the Hut by December, please call in on Saturday morning to pick up your copy.
