There’s a reason they’re called committees. When you’re on one for too long, you start to think about committing something else- suicide, murder or yourself into a mental institute.
We always need people to help with the running of the site. As a self-managed site we rely on volunteers to help us. We welcome new thoughts and concepts with regard to the management of the site, so any help you can give us is appreciated. We are grateful for any general help with the running of the site and it is always satisfying when this help is received. If you feel you can spare some of your time and a little effort then please contact us.
Thank you to everyone who has over the last few years helped with the running of the allotment site. You are too numerous to mention but please be aware that all your efforts do not go unnoticed and on behalf of the committee and all the members of the Association you all deserve a big THANK YOU.
As always we are looking for help with the running of the site if any member is interested in joining the committee or has a particular interest in developing and working with the Association then please contact us.
We are always on the lookout for help, so if you have a burning desire to attend the committee meetings or wish to join the committee or just help out in any other way, then please contact us.
If you would like to attend the committee meetings, these are held on the second Monday of every month at 7.00 p.m. We usually aim to arrive prior to this for a prompt 7.00 p.m. start; this gives Committee Members a chance to catch up on documents such as the minutes of the last meeting. These documents are added to the Library so please check them out to discover what is going on. Joining the Committee is a great opportunity to find out what goes on behind the scenes at the allotment, to get involved and raise and discuss any items you would like to.
We have a number of projects we have earmarked for 2020 the largest one being repairing the stand pipes to the site. Most of these have not been repaired from the time the site was remodeled in 1958.
We will need to put together some teams to carry out this work, so if you can help in any way, well you know what to do.
So if you can swing a hammer, wield a clipboard or do whatever is needed with a screwdriver, please contact us.
The hut is staffed by volunteers and we are looking for help with this. We require more folk to help in the shop on Saturday mornings and if you can make a decent cuppa then so much the better if not full training will be given.
Our hope is that Eileen and Tony will only be needed every other week, as this will allow for some well-deserved respite for them.
The Trading Hut is open between 10.00a.m. and 11.00a.m. every Saturday; (Except Christmas and New Year). We try to have a member of the Committee available in the shop on Saturday mornings but we cannot always guarantee this. The shop is run by volunteers and although we try to answer every issue whenever we can at busy times this is not always possible.
If you feel that you can help us in the Hut, Please contact us.
